Here are some samples of my work. Just click on the title of a song and you'll be taken to a page where you can listen to that song and read the lyrics.
That's When You Know It's Time - A song about finding one's way in life, and persevering to the end.
I Still Miss You So - The heartache of missing one's lifetime companion. A collaboration with Kevin Sconiers, who wrote an instrumental entitled "Quiet Country." I took Kevin's piece and added lyrics to create this touching song.
Going Home - Story of a fatally ill woman who faces death with courage and faith, and of her impact on her family, especially her husband. Written about my grandparents for a family reunion in 2008.
How Many Times - A folk ballad telling the story of a prodigal son.
Sunshine Girl - A catchy pop song about a guy's devotion to his girl, even though he sometimes finds that women are "a mystery to us men."
Oh, Featherock! - A country song I wrote while attending a workshop at Featherock Conference Center (what a great place!)
Home Schooling Blues - A tongue-in-cheek, 12-bar blues song about the trials and tribulations of a disgruntled homeschooling student. Check out the video of me performing this song.
Every Moment of My Life - A song written with my sister Judith about the need to offer ourselves to God each day and to remain aware of His Presence.
The Christmas Donkey ("A Donkey's Christmas Carol") - The first song I ever wrote. The Christmas story as seen through the eyes of Joseph and Mary's donkey.
Fanfare Rondo in G - A composition for Brass Ensemble which I entered in the 17th Friendly Contest sponsored by Myriad Software. The idea of the contest was to use a little pattern of 6 notes as the theme for a complete music piece.
It Takes Two - A jazzy trumpet duet. I began playing the trumpet in 2nd grade - and still love to play it!
Pater Noster - The Lord's Prayer (in Latin) set to music using a string quartet with a baritone voice part.
